Tonight’s Coke Stage entertainment started out with hometown girl, Jocelyn Alice. With a smile that could light up all of Stampede Park, Jocelyn took to the stage alongside long-time friend and collaborator, Lisa Jacobs (a stellar bass player in her own right). After the release of the hit single, “Jackpot” and with the recent releases, “Bound To You” and “I Know”, Jocelyn’s 30-minute was lively, and her natural charm comes through with every note.  It was quite clear that Calgary was thrilled to have one their own back to perform, as she received a very warm welcome, to match the warm summer night.

Next it was on to headliners, the multitalented Walk Off The Earth.

Known for their eclectic style and refreshing sound, Walk Off The Earth first gained notice when all five members of the band played one guitar for their version of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know”, and we all remember seeing that viral video.

Each time they perform, they thrill the audience with unique instrumentations, vocal harmonies and overall stage presence that ensures there’s never a dull moment.

Last night was no exception. Featuring everything from your basic drums, guitars and keyboards, to a ukulele, kazoo and even a dideridoo! To say Walk Off The Earth’s hour-long set was entertaining seems an understatement. You can’t help but move your body, dance with your neighbor, all the while sporting a face-wide smile when they perform.
